In furtherance of the infrastructure revolution witnessed across Emohua local government area under the present administration, the executive chairman of the local government council, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has approved the mobilization of the contractor handling the 1 Kilometer Ubimini Road with 2-kilometer drainage undertaken by the local government council in Ubimini community back to the site for the immediate completion of the project.
The 1 Kilometer Ubimini road is the fourth in the series of road projects conceived and constructed by the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd amid other critical infrastructure projects executed simultaneously across Emohua local government area within one term of the incumbent council chairman.
The delay in the delivery of the project which was flagged off in 2021 is not unconnected to the meager resources available to the local government council, occasioned by the infinitesimal nature of the internally generated revenue of the local government area.
In spite of the above, the contractor handling the project is already back on site to complete the project following the conclusion of the drainages on both sides and culverts at strategic locations, in line with the council chairman’s commitment to the development of the local government area.
The resumption of construction work on the road indicates that the people of Ubimini may be rolling out drums to welcome Dr. Chidi Lloyd and his entourage to the community for the commissioning of the road project in no distant time.
The conception and completion of four road projects amid other infrastructure projects undertaken simultaneously by the Emohua local government council under the leadership of Dr. Chidi Lloyd, within one term of three (3) years isn’t only a phenomenal achievement but a new standard in local government administration, not only in Rivers State but across Nigeria.
Recall that Dr. Chidi Lloyd, a former leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly assumed office as the democratically elected chairman of Emohua local government area on the 17th of June 2021.
The project-oriented chairman had within two years already completed and commissioned two roads; the 1 Kilometer Eveku road with 2 Kilometer drainage in Eveku-Odegu and the 1.5 Kilometer Uke-Eli road with 3 Kilometer drainage in Rundele and the roads are already in use.
The council chairman also recently announced the completion of the 1 Kilometer Chief Nyesom Wike Drive in Akpabu, the third in the series of road projects undertaken simultaneously by his administration, which is expected to be commissioned on a date that would be communicated to the public as part of activities marking his successful two years in office.
The imminent completion of the 1 Kilometer Ubimini road statistically brings to four (4) the number of road construction projects conceived, executed, and completed by the Emohua local government council under the administration of Dr. Chidi Lloyd within the period under review.
